CRA Special Events Grant
The CRA Special Event Grant is a reimbursement grant program designed to encourage events and entertainment programming in the City of St. Cloud that support education, community engagement, and economic opportunity.
Downtown St. Cloud is gaining traction as a destination location for family-friendly entertainment. The re-construction of the downtown streetscape and the addition of new businesses are drawing more visitors than before. So, to encourage its continued growth and development, the program provides grant assistance to organizations, individuals, and businesses to incentivize successful events within the Downtown Entertainment District up to $1,000. Organizations, businesses, and or individuals are eligible to apply for grant assistance for events that draw 500 or more participants to downtown St. Cloud and meet special event requirements. Eligible activities range from music festivals and concerts to expos or other events. Funds can be used for events located in the Downtown Entertainment District and may include marketing, public safety, and equipment-related expenses.
Business Tax Receipt (BTR) Grant Program
The Business Tax Receipt (BTR) Grant Program encourages small business participation in special events and/or to locate, expand, or relocate into the CRA. The program is a one-time reimbursable grant, which enables eligible business owners to pay the local BTR taxes/fees assessed against the business. The program then reimburses those fees up to$100.00 directly to the applicant. The program provides funding via reimbursement for new and expanding businesses to assist in offsetting specific City and County Business Tax Receipt fees. For purposes of this grant, an expanding business is defined as a business that expands its operation and activities or performs several functions, to require an additional BTR.
Eligible businesses include, but are not limited to downtown/entertainment district pop-up vendor/business, a new business looking to startup, and businesses who may be looking to relocate into the CRA geographic boundaries. The program focuses on businesses and vendors that complement the CRA business industry mix.
Applicants must be able to obtain a City Business Tax Receipt (BTR). Any person pursuing trade or business works out of their home, or rents a dwelling for business purposes, within the city limits must obtain a BTR from both Osceola County and the City of St. Cloud, before conducting business.
The St. Cloud CRA administers and monitors the program to ensure all eligible businesses meet program expectations. The grant program is capped at $5,000 annually and/or until the program is canceled by the CRA Board of Directors. The grant program is a first-come, first-serve program.

Building & Site Improvement Grant Program
The Building and Site Improvement Grant Program is available for façade improvements for buildings located within any of the three CRA Districts.
Eligible projects must be for façade improvements to a building or properties that are permanent or could be described as “beautification” projects that are visible (street-facing) portions of structure or site. The program can only refund up to 50% of the cost incurred per eligible project, upon proof of full payment. The Building and Site Improvement Grant Program is a matching grant program that funds 50% of eligible expenses.
Grant awards are based on building square footage and range from up to $10,000 to $65,000.
