5-Year Strategic Plan Update 

The City is updating the Strategic Plan, and we are looking for input from our community. Your voice is an important part of this process, and your feedback will help shape the future of the City of St. Cloud. 

What are we working on?  

We are updating our 5-Year Strategic Plan. The update will include a City Vision, Mission, Organizational Values, Strategic Priorities, and Strategic Goals. It also will include an Implementation Plan that will help shape our operations and budgets for the next five years.  

How can you be involved? 

We have several opportunities for you to share your ideas, thoughts, and feedback. 

Community Visioning Session: At this session, we will talk about the Strategic Plan, and listen to your input, Wednesday, Feb. 21, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cannery Building (901 Virginia Ave.)

 Community Survey: Please take the Community Survey  which will be open until March 11. 

Community Review Meeting: You can attend a Community Review Meeting on Wednesday,, April 24, at the Community Center, 3101 17th St., starting at 5:30 p.m. In this meeting, you will have the opportunity to review the first draft of the proposed Strategic Plan.  

What is the process?

Here are the major steps:  

  • Phase 1 -Logistics:  City staff works with the consultant to secure venues, create surveys, and schedule internal and public meetings.  
  • Phase 2 - Research and Review:  Our consultants will review documents, research information, and collaborate with our boards and committees to build on our history. 
  • Phase 3 - Engagement and Outreach: This includes the Community Visioning session, a community survey, a staff survey, focus group meetings, one-on-one interviews, presentations, and other feedback from the community. 
  • Phase 4 - Strategic Planning Sessions: The framework will be created based on the information gathered in Phase 3.  Several meetings will be held, including a strategic plan retreat, an implementation meeting, another community session, and several work sessions. 
  • Phase 5 - Strategic and Implementation Plan Documents: This is the final phase where the Strategic Plan and Implementation Plan are developed, approved, and shared with the community.
