Smoke Alarms

Free Smoke Alarm Program

St. Cloud Fire Rescue has a free smoke alarm program for homeowners within the city limits, we provide smoke alarms free of charge to one- and two-family dwellings that do not currently have a working alarm. Landlords are responsible for providing smoke alarms for their properties. Smoke alarms provide an early warning to many fires, giving the occupants time to leave the home safely.

The alarms are powered by long-life lithium batteries, which will last up to 10 years, eliminating the need to change batteries yearly. The alarms are given to residents living within the city limits.

We can only provide a limited amount of free smoke alarms per household, please call for more details. We cannot replace a wired smoke alarm with a battery powered alarm and we do not provide batteries for existing smoke alarms.
